Limestone Fountain: Beautiful Hand-Carved Limestone Fountains

For Centuries and Centuries, Limestone Fountains were a unique indispensable element and essential in the cities and villages of France, especially in the South of France (Provence). Due to water being one of the 4 essential elements for life.

The fountains were built out of Limestone and were hand carved by the best french carvers in the region (limestone being one of the softest stone to cut). Each fountain was not only indispensable, but also added an architectural element representative of each location, giving them character and harmony. Fountains generally had one to four spouts and often iron supports to hold buckets.

Charme d'Antan works with a team of French artisan from the region of Provence which achieve an exceptional product due to vast knowledge of carving, aging and Patina (a type of finish) of the Natural Limestone. This brings to each Fountain a unique characteristic and authenticity.
